The Library is a select Depository of United States Government Documents. The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) is the largest publisher in the world. Documents on every subject are published and made available to the public through a system of Depository Libraries. The Library has enhanced its collection with purchases of retrospective material on microforms, some of which goes back to the founding of the Republic. Most government documents may be checked out. Please see the Collection Development Policy for information concerning the goals and collection statements for the library's government documents.
