Public Transportation

Bus route 36 runs between UAA and APU. All students, faculty, and staff can ride the bus at no cost with their university ID.

Many other buses drop off at the library or across the street at Providence Hospital. The Muni website has maps, schedules, and more information.

All students, faculty, staff, and visitors are required to pay for parking on UAA's main campus during the hours of 7:30am - 7:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Parking fees can be paid in the following ways:

  1. UAA PERMITS - UAA Students, faculty and staff can purchase a semester (fall, spring, summer) or a year-long parking permit from The Permit Store.
  2. APU PERMITS - Vehicles with a valid APU parking permit can park in the lots directly next to the library on the east and north side of the building. Note that APU parking permits are not valid for other parking lots on the UAA campus.
  3. FULL DAY PASSES - Patrons can purchase a full day pass at the Pay 'n Park machines located in the open parking lots, or they can purchase an unlimited number of full day passes in advance at the Consortium Library Circulation Desk. Full day passes cost $10.00 and are good in any of the open lots on campus.
  4. HOURLY PASSES - Patrons can purchase parking by the hour at any of the Pay 'n Park machines located in the University's open lots. The hourly rate is $2.00 per hour for up to 5 hours.

Parking is free on the main campus on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; evenings after 7:30pm; during the interim period between UAA semesters; and on some holidays. Parking rules are always enforced in the dorm parking lots as well as in all restricted parking areas (brown permit spots, handicap parking, garage parking, etc.).

For more information on parking options at UAA see Parking Services' Visitor Parking & Day Passes page.
