MERRILL E. GRUBE. Photographs; 1965-1978. 6 cu. ft. Inventory.
Merrill E. Grube is a professional photographer who owned and operated Merrill E. Grube Photography in Anchorage, Alaska. He also worked in the journalism department at Anchorage Community College and did photographic work for the Public Affairs Office at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
The collection consists of over 14,600 photographs and negatives concerning ACC and UAA. Of these, over 900 are primarily black and white prints of various types, including contact prints. The remainder are negatives, mainly black and white, of various sizes. The photographs and negatives were taken by Grube during the course of his work at ACC and UAA. They depict a variety of subjects including classes at ACC; ACC registration; commencements; field trips; faculty; students; buildings and building construction at both UAA and ACC; various receptions and banquets; classrooms; the Fine Arts Fair; and other subjects.
The collection was purchased by the archives in 1983.
