OTTO SCHAEFER (b. 1919). Letters; 1982, 1983. .1 cu. ft.

Otto Schaefer, a doctor of medicine in Edmonton, Canada, is a researcher in health problems relating to people residing in the polar regions. He was a central figure in the founding of the Canadian Society for Circumpolar Health. Also, he participated extensively in the international circumpolar health organization.

The collection consists of two newsletters written by Dr. Schaefer to members of the Canadian Society for Circumpolar Health. The letters concern international symposia on circumpolar health, officers in the Canadian organization, research, publications, achievements of various individuals, programs, and other matters.

The collection was presented to the archives by Dr. Otto Schaefer in 1993.
