RICHARD HOLMES HAZARD. World War II Papers; 1943-1944. .2 cu. ft.

Richard Holmes Hazard, of Pasadena, California, was inducted into the United States Navy in 1943. Hazard attended the U. S. Naval Training Station in San Diego before being transferred to Kodiak, Alaska. Hazard attained the rank of Signalman 2nd Class, in the U. S. Navy.

This collection consists of papers and photos relating to Richard Holmes Hazard's induction and service in the United State Navy during World War II. Included in the collection are Hazard's induction notice; a copy of the U. S. Navy newspaper, The Hoist (Dec. 31, 1943); a poem about life in the navy; a newspaper clipping on Hazard's record for most consecutive sit-ups; and 20 black and white photographs of Hazard with fellow soldiers in various cities, including Seattle and Kodiak.

This collection was acquired by the archives in 2001.
