Biographical note:
Mildred Hendricks came to the Yukon Territory in August 1936 to live with her husband Alvin Hendricks at Walkers Fork mining camp near Dawson. They resided there until June 1937 when they moved first to Fairbanks and then to Coal Creek, Alaska. Mildred Hendricks died in 1986.

Collection description:
The collection consists of twenty-one letters written by Mildred Hendricks to her relatives in Seattle, Washington while she was living in Walkers Fork, Fairbanks and Coal Creek. The letters concern her living conditions, activities people she met, her son, Alvin Hendricks, Jr. and her husband. There is also one letter from Alvin Hendricks, Jr. to relatives in Seattle, and one letter from Juanita Bradley to Mildred Hendricks.
