Biographical note:
William C. Fackler was from Illinois.  He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in geology in 1942.  From 1972 to 1975 he served as Assistant Commissioner of Minerals in the Alaska Dept. of Natural Resources.  William Fackler died in Friday Harbor (Washington) in 1993.

Collection description:
The collection consist of 76 original black and white prints and 75 black and white negatives depicting an oil drilling operation near the village of Nulato, on the Yukon River, from 1959 and 1960.  The photographs were taken at Nulato, Benedum Landing, and at a base camp on the south fork of the Nulato River. Subjects of the photographs include riverboats and barges (MV Yukon and tugboats Quenett, Nez Perce and Kusko), heavy machinery, a tank farm, supplies and equipment, and an oil drilling derrick.

Arrangement: The arrangement of the images is undetermined.
