Biographical note:
The Townsend family moved to Valdez from Hermiston, Oregon in 1950.  They drove to Valdez via the Alaska Highway.  During their stay in Alaska they traveled to Fairbanks and to Anchorage.  Lauren Townsend worked as a freight hauler in Alaska.  In late 1950, they moved to Quincy (Washington?).

Collection description:
This photograph album consists of original prints and postcards with captions written by Mrs. Lauren Townsend.  Locations include Hermiston, Oregon, sites along the Alaska Highway, Valdez, Fairbanks, Anchorage and the Matanuska Valley.

Arrangement: The album has been retained in its original order.
