Collection description:
The collection consists of  photographs taken by Randy Brandon from the 1976 to the early 2004. Most of the photographs are 35 mm slides, though the collection also includes some large-format slides and panoramic transparencies. The first section of the collection consists of Brandon’s photographs of Fur Rendezvous (Fur Rondy) events from the 1980s. The subjects of the remaining photographs include outdoor activities, wildlife, industry, buildings, cities and towns, people, events, landmarks, and scenery. A few of the slides are composite images created digitally by Mr. Brandon. The collection also includes scans of an index to the numbering system that Brandon used for his slides. Many of the slides in the collection are numbered using two different numbering systems applied by the stock image companies that Brandon worked with, which are not reflected in the index.

Arrangement: There are four different groups of slides in the collection. The first consists of the Fur Rendezvous slides that were donated and described in 2013. The second group consists of slides numbered using Randy Brandon’s original numbering system and are in order by number. The third and fourth groups of slides are numbered according to two different numbering systems applied by Alaska Stock Images, and both are arranged by number.
