Arctic & Antarctic Regions (NISC)
Available on ARLIS library computers 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday.
The ARLIS subscriptions to the NISC Databases are available to
UAA students, staff, and faculty, and to the public on ARLIS
library computers during ARLIS open hours (8 am – 5 pm,
Monday through Friday). An ARLIS reference librarian will be
happy to help if you need assistance.

NISC Databases include:

Arctic & Antarctic Regions – one-stop source for comprehensive
and multidisciplinary coverage of research on polar and cold
regions worldwide.
Dates of coverage: 1800 & earlier – present.

Fish & Fisheries Worldwide – collection of databases for
researchers of fish and fish culture worldwide, including all
aspects of ichthyology, fisheries, and related aspects of
aquaculture.
Dates of coverage: 1971 & earlier – present.

Wildlife & Ecology Studies Worldwide – world’s largest index to
wildlife literature including all aspects of wildlife and wildlife
management, habitat, behavior, economics, diseases,
ecotourism, and much more.
Dates of coverage: 1935 & earlier – present.
