Subject: 4.11 server upgrade to 5 for Advanced Admin Class

This one is for Skip don't have his email so am making use of nuga tool:
Skip have a couple of things in regards to the 4.11 to 5 upgrade we will be
doing for Advanced Admin Class:
1) make sure that your server has the lastest greatest SP and check your ds
to make sure at current level believe is 5.99a but you might want to check
should work fine as long as you are at at least 5.15
2) If we are working with an IDE drive should be no prob we can pull off
install cd, but if your server is RAID you will need to contact the
hardware vendor to make sure you have the latest drivers for Novell 5.
3) If this is a prod server make sure you have a good backup
4) Not detailed in the instructions but if this is a prod server also not a
bad idea to do a dsmaint procedure on it to backup existing ds if not prod
server wouldn't worry about it we can also blow away and install fresh if
anything blows up on us.
5) Do we have a copy of 5 to install on this server??
6) If using a real copy not a demo will need to get your licenses
registered with novell to get the key you can do this on the internet the
instructions should be in the box for initial install won't need but I
think it will only go 1 server 1 client without a license activation.
7) Not a bad idea to check your bios level as well make sure is current.
If RAID make sure firmware at current level
