Depending if the laptops OS is Windows XP, try the Ultimate Boot CD for
Windows http://www.ubcd4win.com. Great tool for all sys admins/pc
techs! I've recovered data using this and the price is right; Free!
Directions on creating the boot CD at the link provided. You'll need an
Windows XP CD as well as SP2, and possibly slip-stream SP2 with XP.
