Topic: Affordable Disaster Recovery
Who: David Lozano, StoreVault Systems Engineer
What: New solutions for data storage, back-up and disaster recovery aimed at Small Business and Remote Office budgets
Starting under $3,000 MSRP you can purchase a NetApp solution with over 14 years of proven technology. StoreVault brings to the small and midsize business market the same advanced storage technology that NetApp has been deploying for years in large global enterprises.
StoreVault's new solution is ideal for remote offices and smaller businesses. We'll also unveil the new software management tools that ensure consistent snapshots, eases and integrates into StoreVault Replication for email archiving and disaster recovery.
StoreVault to FAS Replication allows communication between StoreVault products and existing NetApp FAS products. Remote Office or Brach Office (ROBO) installations in larger firms may be searching for an affordable, simple to manage storage platform that can centralize data and replicate it to a data center. In fact, a complete office may be virtualized, backed up, and recovered at a moment’s notice.
Entry level SAN

StoreVault is an all-in-one storage appliance that is capable of NAS, SAN and DAS right out of the box. The underlying NetApp technology in Data ONTAP StoreVault edition provides enterprise-class data and system protection while StoreVault Manager provides a friendly, efficient interface to manage storage in an SMB environment.
The S300 provides from 1 TB to 4 TB of storage starting at less than $3,000 MSRP
StoreVault S300
The StoreVault line provides the following:
· RAID-DP for dual-drive failure protection
· Up to 255 Snapshots per volume
· Intuitive GUI-based management
· StoreVault Replication software for offsite data protection
· SnapRestore software for immediate, easy recovery of entire volumes
· SCSI card for local tape backup and NDMP for network backup
· SnapManager for Exchange StoreVault Edition for easy Exchange integration
Enterprise-grade technology in a small business package means an easy but powerful data storage platform at an economical price. Robust functions like Snapshots and two-drive-failure tolerance are included, with on-the-fly scalability, support for NAS and SAN in one device, and best-in-class data protection features.

Adopt disk-based backup, implement disaster recovery and accommodate business surprises gracefully with a single system. Build the flexibility for business growth without draining the budget!
Scalability
As a division of NetApp, StoreVault is focused on delivering data storage solutions tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses with scalable multi-function network storage appliances that simplify solving common business problems like backup, restore, archive, disaster recovery, virtualization and unplanned growth.

Server Virtualization

Virtual servers in smaller environments also leverage dedicated storage, and StoreVault can provide it economically through iSCSI. Complete virtual servers and their applications can be backed up, restored, replicated and snapshotted using StoreVault tools or native VMware tools. Just as server virtualization separates servers from their hardware, the StoreVault separates storage from its hardware and data is protected at all times using StoreVault’s Advanced Protection Architecture.
StoreVault and VMware have partnered together to provide small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) with server virtualization solutions to better manage storage and server resources.
