[NUGA] Re: VMWare Server 2 Problem

I finally solved this problem by simply plugging in a network cable! The server I was building was not on the network yet when I got the error. If I unplug the network cable I get the same error. It's working great now!

Version 2 does have a lot of improvements and cool features which I can now enjoy!

Thanks!
Roger

Thanks Kurt, good idea but in this case it didn't work. I even tried different ports besides the defaults 8222, 8333. I think I will have to go back to version 1.0.6 which I know works. I was hoping to use version 2 because of all the cool new features.

Subject: [NUGA] VMWare Server 2 Problem

Hi all,
I am trying to get the latest version of VMWare Server 2.0 (free version) to work. I am logging on local to a Windows Server 2003 machine which has VMWare Server loaded onto it. I can open the VMWare Infrastructure Web Access in my web browser and power-on the Guest but when I try to get in the Remote Console I get the error message, "Error opening the remote virtual machine servername:8333\80 An unexplained error occured." I click OK on the error message and the Console box closes. Does anyone know a fix for this. I've tried tweaking permissions. Tried logging on with different accounts with admin rights. VMWare Server 2 is web-based and I've tried IE6 and Firefox 3 which both give the same error message. Thanks for your assistance!

Roger Clifford
