Below is the information on AIIM that I wanted to share with you. I am in the process of assisting in the formation of an AIIM- Alaska Chapter through the AIIM NW Chapter and thought you could benefit from attending the planned presentations and AIIM membership. Please feel free to forward this information to the Network Users Group Alaska personnel as discussed. Information on AIIM Associate and Professional Membership is also available on the AIIM website. The first AIIM- Alaska Chapter Meeting/Presentation will be held December 11, 2008 right here in the Atwood Building, Room 240. The topic will be "Capture Systems & Solutions- The Foundation of Effective Content Management". I am finalizing the agenda at this time and will be posting the list of presenters in the near future. Let me know if you want to be added to the AIIM- NW Chapter mailing list which notifies individuals of upcoming events including those in Alaska. Scott Background: The Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) <http://www.aiim.org/> is the leading national trade association devoted to the design and implementation of cutting edge ECM solutions. Our role in AIIM Northwest is to implement related educational programs at a local and regional level across the (5) five state region, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. In short, our job is to serve you and to keep you informed! Membership to AIIM will provide you our quarterly journal Infonomics, on-going updates on the state of ECM industry, access to the AIIM National website, and invitations to our on-going meetings and special events. In terms of our calendar, AIIM Northwest is an active and dynamic Chapter. In 2008 so far we have held the following events: * January 17 Review of ECM/GIS Integration at City of Mt Vernon WA * April 17 MS SharePoint / MOSS 2007 Review and Discussion * June 10 Secure Content Management in the State of Idaho * July 31 Presentation by the WA Secretary of State / Mr Sam Reed * August 21 Round the Lake Dinner Argosy Boat Cruise * September 11 MS SharePoint / MOSS 2007 (Anchorage, Alaska) (New Chapter!) Other future events this year include: * October 30 MS SharePoint / MOSS 2007 (Portland, Oregon) (New Chapter!) * November 20 Site Tour National Archives Record Administration (Seattle) * December 11 Capture Solutions and Technologies (Anchorage, Alaska) Recently, we just opened a new Chapter to serve the Southern Washington State and Oregon ECM Community called the Columbia River Chapter. We are in the process of forming another AIIM Northwest Chapter in Anchorage Alaska to serve our clients in the 49th State.
