For my sabbatical during Academic Year 2008-2009, I spent the fall in Tasmania at the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), and the spring in Cambridge, UK, at the Scott Polar Research Institute (SPRI).\u00a0 My project was to investigate and compare the gray literature in these two libraries, and to improve availability of these important but often inaccessible collections.\u00a0 Spending the year away was a wonderful, stimulating, interesting, and productive experience — all the things a sabbatical is supposed to be.<\/p>\n
