On February 2, Informania explored ScholarWorks, UA’s institutional research repository.

ScholarWorks is a searchable database of research conducted by faculty, students, and staff at the University of Alaska.  Erik Carlson, the Consortium Library’s Metadata Librarian is responsible for overseeing the development and management of ScholarWorks at UAA.  On February 2, 2015, Erik shared insight into institutional repositories, and the evolving contents of UA’s ScholarWorks database.  Search ScholarWorks to discover what has been added.

Erik also introduced me to a database that searches open source research from a multitude of institutions.  The Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE) includes more than 70 million documents, including research from UAA.  Check it out at  http://www.base-search.net/!
