{"id":652,"date":"2014-08-25T09:16:24","date_gmt":"2014-08-25T17:16:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.consortiumlibrary.org\/blogs\/dmole\/?p=652"},"modified":"2021-06-23T13:32:08","modified_gmt":"2021-06-23T21:32:08","slug":"tips-for-the-student-from-deb-the-librarian-like-using-me-uaa-alaska-edu-to-find-username-create-password","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consortiumlibrary.org\/blogs\/dmole\/2014\/08\/25\/tips-for-the-student-from-deb-the-librarian-like-using-me-uaa-alaska-edu-to-find-username-create-password\/","title":{"rendered":"Tips for the student from Deb the Librarian (like using me.uaa.alaska.edu to find username, create password&#8230; )"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to\u00a0a new\u00a0semester at UAA!\u00a0 As a student you may have questions about your student ID, what support resources you have access to, and who to ask for help.\u00a0 Following are answers to these questions and more!<\/p>\n<p>1) me.uaa.Alaska.edu is the website you can go to\u00a0find your username, and reset your password.\u00a0 As a student, this username and password will be your log in for Blackboard, your UAA email account, and Library computer internet access, and Library databases from outside of the Consortium Library.<\/p>\n<p>2) Your WolfCard\/student ID is your Library Card.\u00a0 Use this to check out books from the Consortium Library and the\u00a0Anchorage Public Library branches.<\/p>\n<p>3) Your WolfCard has $12.00 for printing on campus\u00a0if you are registered as a student at UAA.\u00a0 You can use this to print at the\u00a0Consortium Library, or in the Computer Labs on campus.\u00a0 This $12 comes from your Tech Fee payment.<\/p>\n<p>4) You can get your WolfCard \/ student ID at the front desk at the Consortium Library.\u00a0 You can also get replacement WolfCards here.<\/p>\n<p>5) You can place holds on items from Southcentral and Southeast Alaskan libraries by using your student ID number as a username, and the last four numbers of your student ID as the PIN (Personal Identification Number).<\/p>\n<p>6) You can look up what textbooks and other\u00a0course materials\u00a0are on Reserve at the Consortium Library and the Learning Resources Center (LRC), located in the Sally Monserud Bldg, by searching the Library Catalog for Course Reserves.<\/p>\n<p>7) Reference Librarians are here to help you during most hours that the Library is open.<\/p>\n<p>8) You can set up research consultations for one-on-one research help with a subject librarian.\u00a0 To find the list of subject-resource specialist librarians, go to <a href=\"http:\/\/consortiumlibrary.org\/about\/directory\/liaisons.php\">http:\/\/consortiumlibrary.org\/about\/directory\/liaisons.php<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, if you have ANY questions about UAA, finding information, deciding on a subject for a paper or presentation, writing a bibliography\/list of references, or identifying resources for further assistance on a multitude of topics, ask a librarian!\u00a0 <strong>Call 786-1848 to speak with a librarian, or select Ask A Librarian at www.consortiumlibrary.org.\u00a0<\/strong> Librarians are here to support you in your research success at UAA!\u00a0 Please ask!<\/p>\n<p>I wish you abundant success in your academic and professional careers.\u00a0 To discover more about resources, faculty, staff, campus support and\u00a0opportunities, listen to\u00a0my KRUA\u00a0<strong>Informania<\/strong> radio show this semester, Mondays at 9am, and repeated Thursdays at 5pm.<\/p>\n<p>If you have questions or suggestions for a radio show guest or topic, <strong>email Deb the Librarian at &#x64;&#x6c;&#x6d;&#x6f;&#x6c;&#101;&#64;&#117;&#97;a&#46;A&#x6c;&#x61;&#x73;&#x6b;&#x61;&#x2e;&#101;&#100;&#117;<\/strong>.\u00a0 And remember, if you can Imagine it, you can Become it!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to\u00a0a new\u00a0semester at UAA!\u00a0 As a student you may have questions about your student ID, what support resources you have access to, and who to ask for help.\u00a0 Following are answers to these questions and more!
