Make sure you know the instructor\u2019s last name and the title of the item. Or you can check for yourself by going to the <a href=\"https:\/\/jlc-web.uaa.alaska.edu\/client\/en_US\/uaa\/\">Library Catalog<\/a>, change the default from &#8220;All Collections&#8221; and choose Course Reserves Consortium or Course Reserves LC (Learning Commons).\u00a0 You can search by instructor last name, course name, or course ID.<\/p>\n<p>2) Check if you are able to rent the textbook through the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bookstore.uaa.alaska.edu\/UAA1\/SiteText.aspx?id=6205\">UAA Campus Bookstore\u00a0<\/a>or purchase a used copy.<\/p>\n<p>3) Try one of the websites listed in our\u00a0<a title=\"Textbook guide\" href=\"http:\/\/libguides.consortiumlibrary.org\/content.php?pid=87849\">Textbook guide\u00a0<\/a>to rent, download, purchase used, or access an open textbook.<\/p>\n<p>Good luck with the spring semester!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Consortium Library does not purchase textbooks for classes, but fortunately you have some alternatives: 1) Stop by the Library\u2019s circulation desk to see if the book for your class has been put on reserve by your professor.
