In addition to the costs of partnering in the project, the following are some of the responsibilities of partners:
- Participate in training on material selection and metadata application*
- Agree to content and selection standards for materials placed in the Digital Archives
- Ability to provide high resolution scans to users upon request*
- Institutional email (not an individual person’s) that can be used to receive and respond to requests from the site
- Fee schedule for reproductions and usage
- Use paperwork appropriate to the ownership/rights of the materials
- Maintain a local website page specific to the Digital Archives project with information about ordering and use
- Provide citation requirements
- Maintain contact information for a local coordinator for the partnership
- Materials added to the Digital Archives must be available for public access
*If a partner does not have in-house capacity to digitize materials or apply metadata, this work can be contracted out but still must meet project standards.
