The UAA/APU Consortium Library is not a public library as defined by Alaska Statutes 14.56.400. The mission of the Consortium Library is to provide services and maintain collections that support the educational and research programs of the University of Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University. The library’s computers are provided for research and educational purposes. There is no legal requirement that the library provide computers, email, or Internet access for use by the general public. While the library does provide services to the general public and to the residents of Alaska, these services are limited and are extended as a courtesy.

The Consortium Library defines the level of service and reserves the right to curtail service to the public whenever it so deems necessary to ensure that adequate resources are available to students, staff, and faculty in support of their educational and research interests. While in the building, members of the general public are expected to abide by the Consortium Library’s Code of Conduct and UAA’s Student Code of Conduct. Individuals violating these codes may be trespassed from the library building.
