Have you seen a section on the first floor of the Consortium Library that says ARLIS? This stands for Alaska Resources Library and Information Services. This special section of the library is specific to the state of Alaska. They have information on Alaska’s cultural and natural resources along with its own Alaska Library Catalog database.
In addition to this, there are Alaska lib guides that are accessible at the Consortium Library.
Today is National Great Poetry Reading Day. A day to commemorate great poets of the past. The Consortium Library has a Lib Guide that can help with Creative Writing. It can be just what you need when writing a sonnet, shi, villanelle, tanka, haiku, ode, pr ghazal. Poetry is a way to be releases your deepest thoughts onto paper.
If you are seeking some inspiration or would like something to read from your favorite poet you can view poetry at Poets.org. or if you would like some time away from studying, you can do a word search.
Did you know that the UAA Consortium Library has an Alaska Medical Library section? It is located on the second floor, and it has services for Alaska healthcare professionals and other non-UAA researchers. They are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5 pm.
